SUMMARY:Challenge 26
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to announce that Challenge 26 is coming to Bramham Park from 10th–12th July 2026 – and we want you and your Group to be part of it! \nChallenge 26 is Central Yorkshire’s triennial whole-County camp. It is open to any young person or adult who is a member of Scouting within the County. Challenge 26 promises to be an unforgettable weekend filled with opportunities to connect as a County\, to experience a diverse range of youth-shaped activities\, and to create lasting memories in a safe and supportive environment.  It’s a chance to meet like-minded people from across Leeds and Wakefield and for our young people to try activities they may never have attempted before. To make this event a success\, we need your help to start planning early. \nExpress your Group’s interest now! \nTo help us secure the best activities before they become booked up and to plan effectively\, we’re asking Groups to register an expression of interest as soon as possible. This doesn’t commit your Group to a firm booking (although we hope you will attend!)\, but really helps us to ensure that the event is tailored to the number of young people and adults attending and allows us to put as much of our budget as possible towards booking exciting activities. \nHere’s how it works: \n\nYour District Lead Volunteer will circulate a sign-up code for your Group.\nEach Group should appoint one person as their ‘Booking Contact’. This person should use this code to ‘claim’ your Group on the booking system at bookings.challengecamp.org.uk. The Booking Contact can then complete the expression of interest form on the system.\nYou’ll be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit of £50 to confirm your Group’s interest.\n\nThe deadline to express interest is 31st December 2025. Don’t forget\, Challenge 26 is open to all sections within Central Yorkshire. You can choose to attend for the full weekend (Friday-Sunday)\, one night (Saturday-Sunday) or for the day on Saturday only if you’d prefer. If you’re an adult volunteer not attending with a group\, opportunities to join the Challenge Crew will open soon. \nWhat’s next? \nOnce your Group is claimed and you have expressed interest\, we’ll keep you updated with further details\, including full booking information and activity previews. The firm bookings process will open at the start of 2026. \nFind out more! \nOur newly refurbished Challenge Camp website is where you can find out more about the event. Have a look at our video reel from the last Challenge Camp in 2023\, meet some of the organising team or find out how you can get involved as a volunteer at challengecamp.org.uk. This is where we will continue to publish information and exciting activity previews as they become available. You can also contact us at challenge26@cycscouts.org.uk. \nLet’s make Challenge 26 the biggest and best yet! \nWe can’t wait to see you at Bramham Park. \nCentral Yorkshire County Challenge 26 Team \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Festive Fundays 25
DESCRIPTION:When: Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December – either morning (9 -1) or afternoon (2 – 6) \nWhere: Bramhope Scout Campsite\, Occupation Lane\, Bramhope\, Leeds LS16 9HR \nWho: for all Squirrels\, Beavers and Cubs in Central Yorkshire Scouts \nCost: £15 (which includes the booking fee paid direct to the ticket and payment companies) \nDoes a leader need to attend?: Leaders do not need to attend for your Squirrels\, Beavers and Cubs to attend. However\, we would be grateful for as much or as little help as any leader may be able to volunteer. We do need approximately 80 adults on site for each session to both run the activities and support the children and young people. If you\, or another adult\, is able to volunteer for some or all of the weekend (even if it is to attend when your Squirrels\, Beavers and / or Cubs are there) please let us know by completing the form below. \nIn line with POR (update March 2025 – 4.3.10.6) if your Squirrels / Beavers / Cubs are attending without a member of the normal section team being present: \n\nGet your GLV (GSL)’s permission to share the event with parents / guardians if there will not be their child’s usual section leader(s) in attendance for some / all of the sessions;\nMake sure we have a record of that permission (send it to carrie.shotton@cycscouts.org.uk);\nLet the parents / guardians know in advance of booking that this is the case so they are fully informed. \n\nTicketTailor link for booking: Please share the attached poster and link with all parents/guardians who can book direct https://buytickets.at/centralyorkshirescouts/1837384. This year\, we are sharing the details before the link goes live to allow time for groups to get GLV permission (as above) and share details with parents / guardians in advance. Our intention is for the bookings to go live on 26 September 2025.\nPlease remind them of your group name and district and your ‘real’ name and appropriate email address – that way we will let you know that they have attended for badge record purposes. We have started a ‘badge tracker’ so you will know what badgework your Squirrels\, Beavers and/or Cubs have completed. \nVolunteer link to sign up to help some or all of the event:\nhttps://forms.gle/Yy4kckdxMQt2g1SQ8 (whether over the weekend and / or with planning in advance – we are always grateful for some new ideas). \nBelow is a link to some FAQs in case this helps\, including a copy of the FAQs that are on the booking form for parents / guardians too. \nFAQs \nWe look forward to seeing you and / or your Squirrels / Beavers / Cubs there! \nCheck out the County webpage for more details. \nhttps://www.cycscouts.org.uk/events/festive-fundays-2025/
